ANYTHING BUT A DRAG!
GEORGIA McBRIDE @ TheatreSquared - 2019
“On its face, ‘The Legend of Georgia McBride’ is a wacky comedy that tells the story of what happens when a down-on-his-luck Elvis impersonator named Casey has to make a sudden shift to performing in drag to support his pregnant wife. But with Bruce Warren as director of the TheatreSquared production, Matthew Lopez's script packs more of an emotional wallop than one might expect, and the comedy masks deep themes like identity and acceptance.”

SAY “YAAAS!” TO COMEDY AND QUEENS
GEORGIA McBRIDE @ Theatre Squared - 2019
“In a word, ‘The Legend of Georgia McBride’ is simply this: outrageous... It’s an exploration of theatrical arts, a genre-stretching show... It’s sometimes outrageously funny. Like, doubled over in your seats funny. But perhaps the most important of the elements at work in Matthew Lopez’s 2015 comedy is this: It’s outrageous for a show this silly and sassy to have this much heart. The show is an absolute romp, a 100-minute parade of costumes and pizzazz and shade... It flies by. Under the layers of makeup and sparkles and wigs, there’s a great deal of growth packed in there.”
